After a decade and some hiatus, amateur theatre group Exit Stage Left restarted in January 2020 with a few veterans and some new blood. A play selection committee was formed and the hunt began for the right show to signal the group’s return to the stage.
A one act play with a small cast and minimal set requirements seemed a good bet, so when committee member Harold Tolton brought forward Margaret Pople’s believable and hilarious show ‘Or Best Offer’ a perfect fit was found.
The show is set in a rural Manitoba town during a town wide yard sale, and the story is stocked with characters you would no doubt recognize from sales around your town. At the center of it all is a young lady who appears to be selling all her boyfriend’s belongings until in walks the young man himself!
Relationship advice, love lost and won again, and the witty banter of two golden gals from opposite sides of the tracks this show is a hoot! Exit Stage Left did two performances in early March to small socially distanced audiences.
