This innovative cello duo have been captivating audiences through their performances of classical masterworks, unknown gems and boundary pushing arrangements. Their musical programs present artistically challenging material in an accessible way and have been performed in a range of different venues from intimate pubs and libraries to a 3000 seat venue like Roy Thompson Hall.
VC2 is cellists Bryan Holt and Amahl Arulanan who met while studying music at the University of Toronto. The two have worked extensively as orchestral, chamber and session musicians for nationally recognized organizations such as the Toronto Symphony Orchestra and Canadian Opera Company. The pair of cellists have also performed extensively with experimental and ground breaking ensembles such as the Art of Time Ensemble, Continuum Contemporary Music, Pocket Concerts and Tapestry Opera who often present interdisciplinary pieces that merge dance, music, theatre as well as film and literature.
Kenzie Jane’s unique style of original music mixes RnB, Jazz, Roots. She has played various venues and festivals including the Winnipeg Folk Festival, Winnipeg Pride, ManyFest and has recorded with Grammy-nominated artist Fresh IE. She recently toured across Western and Northern Canada, playing festivals and shows from communities in the Yukon to small towns in Saskatchewan.
Kenzie will be in Carberry for a residency project where she will be working with members of the Carberry Collegiate Youth choir on a performance that will be presented as part of her set on Thursday March 19th 2020 at Carberry Community Hall. Tickets go on sale soon!
